At Sportspeople Recruitment we’ve been fortunate to work in this sector for nearly 25 years, along the way assisting more employers and job seekers than any other agency. Over this time we’ve seen the peaks and dips of the job market but nothing like the sudden shift over the past month.  The news today that job advertisements fell in Australia by over 50% (February to March) simply reinforces what we’ve been seeing and for many of you, what you’ve been experiencing.

From our continuing discussions with employers it’s clear most already have a focus on a recovery phase. What these organisations will look like may well be very different to the start of 2020, but the recovery will eventually arrive and plans need to be in place. We also know many employers need to fill jobs between now through to December while all organisations will start the process of workforce planning.

We’ve been workshopping a number of ideas on ways to best assist employers as they either fill jobs now or start to consider new roles as their recovery plans come together.  As a recruitment agency our tradable currency is our time, expertise, network and of course, our service fees. And while we certainly have a flexible fee structure and a service offering to adapt for all levels of sport and any job, we know budgets are tighter than ever before.

That’s why we have developed the Sportspeople Recruitment Employer Assistance Package:

• Up to $100,000 allocated to the sport and recreation sector, providing meaningful and immediate service fee subsidies
• This pool of funds will be allocated against our service fees when we’re appointed to assist with a search and recruitment process
• Applicable to any level of recruitment services commissioned 16 April to 31 December, 2020 or until the $100,000 (AUD) has been fully allocated (whichever occurs first).
• Funds are available to the Sport Recovery Blueprint (announced May, 2020).
