The NSW Waratahs are seeking EOI from suitably experienced candidates for the Head Coach, NSW Waratahs.
The role reports to the Director of Performance.
The key focus of the role includes:
- Take the lead role in selecting and managing players, staff, and the coaching team, ensuring sustainable on-field success and the achievement of the organisation's vision.
- Coach the team to a high standard of excellence both on and off the field, demonstrating significant improvement over the season and enhancing the reputation of NSW Waratahs and their competitions.
- Provide leadership for the NSW Waratahs coaching system by setting an example through best practices as the Waratah Head Coach.

- Squad Selection, Team Selection & Preparation, and Player Retention
- Team Method
- Effective Team Training
- Discipline
- Player Development and Appraisal
- Developing Strong Relationships with:
- NSW Waratahs - Rugby Australia - Premiership Relationships
- Media
- Referees
- Commercial, Sponsors and Administration
Candidates will need to demonstrate their ability to achieve these key outcomes:
- The best Rugby program in Australia within 3 years (2027)
- Successful coaching of the Waratahs principles of game style (‘The Waratah Way’) resulting in Super Rugby performances & success.
- High levels of staff and player satisfaction – as demonstrated through recruitment and retention programs.
